The text below was included with the YouTube video and I think shows the simple and clear message that children and youth learned and applied when needed.
Tsunami tendenko (津波てんでんこ, lit. tsunami scatter) = a way to escape from tsunamis, passed down in Sanriku district (三陸地方) engulfed by huge tsunamis after the earthquake at March 11. The word tells: when tsunami hits, scatter and escape without any regard to your parents and brothers to avoid the annihilation of your family. As result it's the quickest way to escape and the best way most of you survive. For 10 to 30 minutes until tsunami comes, escape or die.
