Hi Lany,
I just want to intorduce myself and let you know that I have been working with a netwrok herre in NZ on ways to support DRR activity in Indonesia. My organisation in New Zealand developed a comprehensive teaching and learning resource for use in elemntary schools and I would like to talk with anyone interested in this type of resource in Indonesia to see if something like this could be used in schools there. Our focus is on developing the materials and providing training to teacher trainers and teachers in how to use the resources. The resource we developed fro NZ is called 'What's the Plan Stan' and you can view it on teh website http://www.whatstheplanstan.govt.nz/
I am hoping to get back to jakarta in early November to continue the discussions I started in May.
Let me know what you think.

Dear Lany
Many thanks for your message and interest in the "Characteristics of a Disaster-resilient community". We are finalising a 2nd edition which contains more guidance on how to use the resource (this is based on experiences from field testing it). This should be published very soon: it is already at proof stage. Send me your email address (to j.twigg@ucl.ac.uk) and I will add you to our mailing list to get a copy when it is ready.

Hi Lany! I decided to meet someone new on Edu4DRR... and you looked so friendly!! I want to introduce you to another colleague in similar position - I'm going to invite her on and then please look for her "Yumei Wang" from Oregon.

Lany, Thanks for you rapid reply. Any clips from the film would be good to share with the group and even if the resources are in a local language (Bahasa) a pdf file of these would be very helpful anyway as others may be able to use those resources in their teaching! I have added a video to show how to upload such resources onto the site by creating a new forum page, but you could also add it as a note to this page too. Click here for this video.

Thanks once again,

Justin

Dear Justin,
We really want to put our resources but unfortunately, all we produce are in Bahasa. We're thinking to translate into English and I am sure we will share once it finish. Until now we already produced film on earthquake for school children and teacher; Standard Operational Procedure for drill (in school); earthquake song; still working on finalization for earthquake, tsunami, volcano and landslide module as well as teaching material (front side children will see image/picture/drawing and on the back side the teacher will see related text).

Wonderful to hear about the work you are doing Lany! Could you please upload any resources such as word documents that you have used with kids or lesson plans. Similarly if you have any video of kids undertaking dill etc, this would also be most welcome! Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing some of your resources on the network!
Kind Regards,

Justin
